2013 Calendar

If you're anything like me, you've waited until the last minute to realize you still need a few last little gifts to finish your holiday shopping. Or if you're really like me, you still need the majority of it. Either way, I'm here to help! I've made a little 2013 desk calendar that's yours to download. All you have to do it print it, cut it, and put a clip on it.

Download here! Enjoy!

seventy tree

I've been a fan of everything Seventy Tree for a while now (triangle tape, anyone?!) so it was sad to see today on her blog that a few of her illustrations have been completely ripped off The Jany, a children's clothing store in Korea. She listed a few things here you can do to help. It's really terrible to see someones work being stolen like that, and as a designer myself, I would be livid.

On a happier note though, make sure to check out her shop, she's got lots of great work, fun prints, and of course, triangle tape.

wood prints

I constantly come across things on the internet and think "oh I'm totally doing that."
This is one of those things.

calendar season

About this time of year I realize that my giant calendar needs to be re-purchased. So as every year, I went online, added it to my cart, and was about to hit purchase when I suddenly thought, "am I over this?" Gasp! But it's true, I might, just might, be over the Stendig that I have loved for so many years. Perhaps it's because I've had it up prominently in various living rooms for so long, or that we also have one at my office, so I can't escape it. Either way, something else is going to need to fill that space.

But more on that later.

This is really just an excuse to post other pretty calendars, specifically this prism one by Julia Kosteva, which I discovered today via Miss Moss.

It just might need to make an appearance in my house somewhere.. hmmm.

English Camp

To ease the cabin fever we wandered around English camp last weekend, here are a few quick shots.

shop the hill

A poster I recently did for the Capitol Hill Chamber has been making an appearance around the hill. Always cool so see your work plastered around the city.

moments

Around the house yesterday after a long weekend of fun.

freindsgiving

Alright this a little late, as I'm behind on everything lately, but Friendsgiving was another great success.

camp

I'm not really one for graphic tees, just typing the words conjures up images of pre-pubescent girls in Abercrombie and Fitch shirts... which is probably why I'm not a fan. Tweens aside, I do like these, and would maybe even treat myself to a little graphic-action if they weren't ridiculously overpriced.

A + C

Here's a sneak peak at Andrew and Courtney's engagement pictures I took last weekend at Golden Gardens. Despite the weather I would say it was a success.

Cheers guys!

find peace

Ugh, what a terrible last few days we've had. Our house was broken into Thursday and I've been a bit of a wreck ever since. I think Will actually witnessed me having a nervous breakdown, it wasn't pretty. Without going into details, a lot of important information was stolen, including freelance work, and just about every picture I've taken for the last 3 years, which were on my computer. I've done just about everything I can to try and find it, and though I'm not going to stop looking, I'm starting to realize that I just have to let go. There's just something so personal about being robbed, something so gut retching about someone breaking down your door and ripping things out of the wall, it's sort of all I've been able to think about, and I'm sick of it. I'm not over it, and I'm certainly not going to forget anytime soon, but I am going to be thankful they didn't take more, and nobody was hurt. There are plenty of people out there in worse situations, and by comparison, we're lucky.

On another note, I took my coworker's engagement photos Sunday, on a lovely rainy day, which is where these are from, but more on that later.

entry envy

I'm not sure if what we have really counts as an entry. It's more the wall next to the door across from the couch, but either way it need some love. It's currently a mash of cheap press board, including a shoe rack I'm pretty sure I stole from my old roommate when she moved, the cheapest bookshelf you can buy at ikea, a table I've had since I moved out of my mom's house, and some ugly wall hooks. At a glance it's not terrible, but I'm over it.

That said, I found an awesome blog today, who's author has a home I want to break into and steal everything out of. Among the many beautiful rooms, the entry caught my eye. It's simple, clean, and what I eventually want mine to sort of look like.

Planned Parenthood Burlesque Event

Last weekend I shot at a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood, and it all went really well. Heather did an amazing job putting it together, the acts were fabulous, and my lovely assistant Camille was a huge help. It was certainly an interesting experience for me, as I was woking with equipment I had never used before, and there was definitely a learning curve, but hey.

Here are a few pics from the event.

I'm digging these photo-print pillows, cool idea. Check out the full store here.

RC + AC

I'm finally getting around to posting the invites I designed for some friends of mine this summer. Though sadly I couldn't attend the wedding, I was very happy to be able to be part of their day, and I love the way they turned out.

geo

It should be obvious by now I'm sort of a geometry-hoe lately. These are right up my alley.
